Hana:     Umm... if we have enough time, let’s try the local delicacies.

Ken:        Takoyaki and okonomiyaki?

Hana:     That’s right.

Ken:        That’s a good idea.

Hana:     So, we will arrive at Shin – Osaka Station in the morning and go directly to Kinki University, right?

Ken:        That’s right. I guess we’ll have lunch at a café or restaurant in the English village and interact with the students.

Hana:     Yes. Then we’ll have dinner at a Takoyaki restaurant before checking into our hotel.

Ken:        Okay.

Hana:     Next day, we will visit Mr. Gushiken’s gym before heading for Abeno Harukas.

Ken:        Okay. If we have time, let’s visit Osaka Castle.

Hana:     Why don’t we go to Namba instead?

Ken:        Alright. Do you have a rough idea of how much this trip is going to cost us?

Hana:     No at all. I will find out and send you a text message during the week.

Sam:      Oh! Kenny! What was he doing there?

Taro:      It seems he *****ran out of fish supplies, so he came to the　fish market to buy some.

*ran into 人: 偶然人に出会いました。

**running:          run の進行形です

***runny nose:   鼻水

****run out of:    物：材料が切れている・人：人手が少ない

*****run             急ぐ、早く　他の言い方：hurry, rush

今日は”let”の二つの意味を取り上げましょう。

Taro:      Hi, Sam. Do you have any plans for this weekend?

Sam:      Yes, I’m going to go to fishing at Hamanako. How about you?

Taro:      I haven’t made any plans yet.

Sam:      Then,* let’s go fishing together.

Taro:      I would have loved to but, I’m afraid my boss won’t **let me. It seems we have to work all through the weekend

Sam:      Oh, poor you. Good luck with your work.

Taro:      Thanks. Have a nice weekend.

*let = ～しましょう　（誘いや提案するパターン）

他の言い方：

• Ø  Why don’t we go together?
• Ø  Would you like to come with me?
• Ø  How about going fishing with me? など

**let = 許す　(allowやpermitと同じ意味)
